Thank you for helping GPs like Anita bring real hope to rural communities.

“People get to know you and trust you, that’s the real beauty of this program.”
Dr Anita Moss, Rural Women’s GP service
Together, we are connecting ten remote communities across Victoria to a consistent, visiting female doctor through the Flying Doctor Rural Women’s GP (RWGP) service.
In Robinvale alone, countless patients have found trust and reliability in Dr Anita Moss, thanks to support like yours.
Dr Moss describes returning to the border town community of Robinvale every seven weeks as a “home away from home”. For eight-years the GP obstetrician has provided the community with an ongoing health service, and, in that time has built a strong connection to the town and its people.
“Improving health literacy is something I feel very passionate about and it’s that regular contact and rapport and trust building that facilitates that,” Dr Moss explains.
For a remote community with diverse, unique and complex health needs, trust is built by consistently showing up and investing in people’s health and wellbeing.
When the nearest hospital is an hour’s drive away – and the nearest tertiary hospital is five hours by road – the need for preventative, early intervention healthcare becomes vital.
Considering rural Australians are 2.7 times more likely to die from preventable causes; your commitment to supporting the RWGP service is
truly life-changing.

It’s thanks to your generosity that women in isolated communities have a choice when it comes to accessing
a female GP close to home, at no cost. Reducing the financial, travel and time barriers that often prevent rural Victorians from receiving health care.
Dr Moss says the longer appointment times through the RWGP service, paired
with continuity of care, helps people address risk factors before they escalate, whether through cholesterol checks,
conversations about breast imaging and cervical screening, or mental health.
“I actually get to sit down and get to the heart of the matter, which is rarely what they walk in the door with. And to be able to approach it in a holistic, comprehensive way.”
“The work is deeply rewarding because it connects to people’s lives in a meaningful way and allows us to support the local clinicians and allied health workers,” says Dr Moss.
Dr Moss says your investment into communities like Robinvale, “gives hope”.
“It is such a gift to those communities to have that regular visit, that regular touch point, that same face.”
Dr Moss continues, “I want donors to know, your support helps us prevent primary illnesses becoming more serious.”
Thank you so much for helping GPs like Dr Moss bring better health care and better outcomes to rural Victorians.
